Auto Feed Photo Scanner

An auto feed photo scanner is simply a scanner that has an attached feeder that allows photos to be fed into the scanner automaticaly. Such a set-up allows for greater efficiency as a large stack of photos can be fed into the scanner to be scanned automatically without requiring any manual work. When working with a large number of photos, this can be a real boon.

If you want to scan the occassional photo or document, paying a bit extra for an auto feed photo scanner isn’t really necessary. However, if you have hundreds and thousands of old family photographs that you want to scan and digitize, an auto feed photo scanner can come quite handy.

Consider the fact that it takes anything from one to three minutes to scan an image completely at a resolution of 300 dpi. You have to manually place the image in the scanner bay, press the scan button, then take it out, place another one. This can require a whole lot of manual hours and make the entire process of digitzing your memories an agonizing experience.

Instead, what if you could load up a stack of images into the feeder, start up your favorite photo software (we recommend Adobe Photoshop), set up a batch scan, and sit back as each of your photos is scanned one by one while you go do something more productive with your time.

An auto feed photo scanner, in such a scenario, can be an invaluable investment.

As with other scanners, choose only from the established scanner makers such as Epson, HP, and Canon. These companies make a lot of auto photo scanning models and you will have a wide variety to choose from. Remember that expensive doesn’t have to necessarily mean high quality (and vice versa) and do your research prior to choosing your scanner. As always, we will recommend starting off at Amazon for your research, or perhaps, even buying your scanners from the website.
